Match the Course to Your Skill Level
If you’re a beginner, joining an advanced course is going to skip out the fundamentals you need to know, so you’ll soon feel lost in a sea of terms and skills that you’re not familiar with. Equally, an experienced bartender will already possess much of the skills and knowledge taught on a beginner’s bartending course.
At The Spirit Lab, our bartender school London courses have options for every skill level. This includes our week-long international mixology training that covers all the fundamentals you’ll require if you have some or no experience. We also offer advanced training which is for those with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, helping you to take your skills up to the next level of cocktail making greatness!
Theoretical vs Practical Cocktail Making
Students often wonder about how much of a mixology course will have hands-on practice, but there’s always a balance to strike. It’s great to know the theory behind what you’re doing to gain a deeper understanding of what you’re trying to achieve and what separates a good mixologist from a bad one. However, practical, hands-on learning is also vital to the process, helping you to put the theory into practice and develop the confidence to take your new-found knowledge and skills to the real world.
At The Spirit Lab, we know just how important it is to get the right types of experience while completing your bartender training. We adapt our lessons to the needs of our students, so have two high-quality settings in which our training is held.
Our international mixology courses for beginners take place in our fully stocked, operational bar so that you can get a feel about everything from the techniques you’ll need to use to handling glassware and spirit bottles. On the flip side, our advanced mixologist training is based in our lab, giving you the best environment to explore new techniques such as manipulating ice and comparing spirit brands.
Bar School Reputation
If you’re looking for the ultimate bartender course London training, always check the school’s reputation, what past students have said about the programme and how much support is given. At The Spirit Lab, we hold all our courses in small classes of up to 8 students, giving you more one to one time with our experienced mixologists. We’ve won several prestigious awards, and our students leave us glowing reviews.
